Docushare is a document-centric Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution that, typically, provides little support for project management requirements.

Compared to SharePoint’s document capabilities, it competes well in terms of collaboration and group interaction, and provides document management capabilities that are competitive with MOSS (and much more robust than WSS).

DocuShare CPX is the higher-end version which supports non-technical users being able to create new/additional workspaces, build workflows, set rules for actions on documents, etc.

Tasks are handled as a routing / workflow; also can be customized to link to databases. Status reporting on tasks & displaying of tasks on a timeline would be custom developed.

This product has evolved for years ...

Rich roles and permissioning capabilities.

With CPX version of the product ... Don't need to be a developer to build workflows, ...

Integration with Out-look enables Docu-share directories to appear as folders in Outlook, & Oultook content is indexed, so discussions should be also. Outlook client supports bulk upload of files.

Very strong metadata support.

Pricing: DocuShare CPX pricing is $360/user, 100 seats minimum, so 100 users = $36,000 + any SQL DB + Hosting.
Annual support and maintenance is 25% of license fee e.g., $9000/yr at 100 user minimum.
